I have been thinking of making a geode in a box elder burl I am turning into a vase. Two huge of chunks had flown out of the wood, leaving gaping holes. Earlier today, I had my hands on a bag of calcite crystals, a bag of mother-of-pearl flakes and a package of resin, but put them back. Came home, googled “woodturn geode” and discovered your fabulous article! Thank you! Just what I needed!
